Baldur’s Gate 3

Summary

WithinBaldur ’s Gate 3there is the option to repec any of the playable characters just by utter to Withers . This set aside any of the Origin reference or companion to have their socio-economic class change for completely custom party configurations . However , just because a graphic symbol can have their class changed does n’t mean that class should be vary .

[ word of advice : The following clause containsspoilers for Baldur ’s Gate 3 . ]

All of theBaldur ’s Gate 3companionsand Origin character ' grade are link to their backstories , meaning that some changes to their class might not make the most sense . However , for a small fee , any of the playable characters can have their class completely changed simply by speaking to the camp ’s resident undead , Withers . While that freedom is a good affair , tolerate anyone to create a party catered to their needs , there are some character and class combinations that plainly do n’t make sense when it hail to the traditional knowledge .

To respec or shift theatrical role class in Baldur ’s Gate 3 , player must recruit Withers from his tomb on the Ravaged Beach near the Emerald Grove .

11Jaheira As A Bard

Default Class: Druid

Jaheira is a returning character reference and fellow traveler to the series , having appeared in bothBaldur ’s GateandBaldur ’s Gate 2 : shadow of Amn . Jaheira is a very headstrong druid whose backstory and beliefsfocus on protecting nature . Because Jaheira believe that a mortal needs to have an alive role in the world to make a difference , the class that attain the least mother wit is a College of Lore bard . Classically , these bard wow their frequenter with stories , with a focus on entertainment . While the course would work automatically inBaldur ’s Gate 3,it crap no sense for Jaheira to be a class that typically focuses on entertainment and collecting tales rather than action .

Baldur ’s Gate 3 is impose in stature and its ripe moments are truly memorable , but some early issues with scale evoke an uneven experience .

10Shadowheart As A Warlock

Default Class: Cleric

Shadowheart ’s backstory and personalBG3questline isinterwoven with Shar and Selûne , where she can either become one of Shar ’s most truehearted Dark Justiciars or learn the truth about her parents and flex to Selûne . Because of this , one of the choices that would make the least sense would be to make Shadowheart an Archfey Warlock . Firstly , having a being other than Shar or Selûne being responsible for her abilities would make no sense , but Archfey are often whimsical beings , clearly at odds with Shadowheart ’s more pragmatic personality .

9Lae’zel As A Wizard

Default Class: Fighter

As a proud githyanki warrior , Lae’zel favour action to wordsand is able to employ multiple weapons to crushing force . Her current class as a fighter reflect this , as whatever arm the political party has to give Lae’zel can use to defeat her foes inBG3 . As such , choosing to make her a more magical class , such as a sensation , does n’t fit with her personality , background knowledge , and end of becoming a Kith’rak . The worst choice would be an illusion wizard , as that subclass has a focus on skullduggery and is a small too passive for Lae’zel .

Devora Wilde discuss playing githyanki companion Lae’zel , the complexity of Baldur ’s Gate 3 ’s narrative and githyanki culture crash .

8Minsc As A Wizard

Default Class: Ranger

Another companion that would be poorly - suited to being a whiz would be Minsc , but for completely dissimilar rationality . return with Jaheira toBaldur ’s Gate 3 , Minsc is a fan favorite due in no small part to hisdim - witted but good - naturedattitude to life story . Minsc is a skilled warrior capable of using his weapons to do the talk , so choosing a spellcaster social class for him makes little horse sense . Wizard would be an particularly pitiful ( or hilarious ) choice due to Minsc ’s scurvy intelligence , peculiarly black magic . There is no way the Rashemen fire warden would ever erect the dead to kick immorality ’s butt when it was something he and Boo could do alone .

7Wyll As A Sorcerer

Default Class: Warlock

Wyll ’s backstory and personal quest focuses on his relationship with his warlock patron Mizora . Throughout the course of study ofBaldur ’s Gate 3,Wyll will give away that he took the mickle with Mizora to turn back some Tiamat cultists , argue that he mat up he had no other path of stopping them and therefore helping people . Because of this , it would n’t make sense for Wyll to be a thaumaturgist with natural wizardly powers , as if that was the event , he would n’t have needed Mizora . In particular , Wyll being a Draconic Bloodline sorcerer makes the least signified because they tend to be a footling hardier and Wyll would have have sex of his blood from an early age .

6Minthara As A Druid

Default Class: Paladin

An often overlookedBaldur ’s Gate 3companion , Minthara can only be recruitedby turn on the Druid Grove in Act 1 . Minthara is a fighter , devote to Lolth , and as a drow , views another airstream as substandard . Because of this , make her a druid induce no sense , as Druid essay to live in concordance with nature , animals and others . As a Lolth - Sworn drow who has lived in the Underdark her intact life , it would make no signified for Minthara to be a druid , in exceptional a Circle of the Moon druid , due in no minor part to the liaison with the drow goddess Eilistraee , who linked with the moon and is thesworn enemy of Lolth .

5Halsin As A Rogue

As a druid , Halsin has dedicated his life story to protecting and serving nature , something he will happily peach about in camp inBG3 . When talking to Halsin in Act 3 , he shareshis dislike for citiesand work up - up areas , as they make him finger out of topographic point , and he dislike how interfering they are . Because of this , making Halsin a Thief rogue would make the least sense , as his natural instinct would be to share rather than steal and thieves tend to maneuver in urban environs .

4The Dark Urge As A Cleric

No Default Class

The Dark Urge is a strange mix of custom character and Origin , where they can be any division or backwash but have a touch on backstory . Although the Dark Urge startsBaldur ’s Gate 3with no memory of who they are , it is revealed throughout the game that they are a Bhaalspawn and originally one of the three Chosen who get up with the Absolute design with Gortash . Due to their tie with Bhaal , the god of murder , it makes little common sense to have the Dark Urge be a Light domain cleric . low-cal clerics follow gods such as Lathander and Helm , good - coordinate deities who bear their worshipers toseek out unfairness and scatter the darknessin the world .

bet as the Dark Urge in Baldur ’s Gate 3 means players will have to make a lot more life and death decisions , some of which have grim result .

3Karlach As A Warlock

Default Class: Barbarian

Karlach grow up in Baldur ’s Gate and served Gortash until he sold her to the Archdevil Zariel . Karlach was ram to oppose in the Blood War in Avernus until she was able to get free by hitching a ride on a passing judgment flayer ship . To sayKarlach has a dislike for devilsis an understatement , and she knows that all of Zariel ’s hellish force will be look for her . As such , it make water dead no mother wit to make Karlach a warlock with a fiend patron inBG3,as it flies in the look of everything Karlach hat .

2Astarion As A Cleric

Default Class: Rogue

Astarion is the charming and sarcastic vampire of theBaldur ’s Gate 3party , always ready with his brainpower to make a remark on every position the group face . As a creature of the night , Astarion works well as a rapscallion , able to stalk through the dark to assault his prey . However , making Astarion a Life cleric is entirely illogical , although potentially amusing , as Life Domain clerics pore on preserving and protect life rather than taking it . The idea of avampire as the company ’s healermight be shady , but Astarion ’s temperament really does n’t mingle well with the office of the Graeco-Roman healer .
