Warning : coddler for Spider - Boy # 1 !
The existence ofSpider - Man’snew sidekick is becomingeven more complicated . The parole " new " may need to be used broadly , because upon being introduced , 10 - year - old Bailey Briggs take that he ’s been a champion within the Marvel Universe for at least three twelvemonth , serving as Spidey ’s buddy in that metre . The reason no one commemorate him is because , until now , he ’d been wipe off from history bythe Totem Dagger .
Bailey ’s explanation for why no other Marvel hero remember him – that his existence has been pass over from the collective remembering – is , as far as the standards of a superhero story go , certainly plausible ; it has happen before , to established characters .
Spider - Boy#1 – written by Dan Slott , with graphics by Paco Medina , – finds Spider - Man strain his best to think Bailey ’s claims ; however , there may be holes in his story unearthed in his story , lead Peter Parker to get hunch about the new hoagy and the dead on target nature of their hero - chum dynamic .
That is n’t to say that Bailey is lying about anything he is speak about , as he has expressed too much accurate noesis about the Marvel Universe around him to be debate a liar . However , there have been sign to suggest that while Spider - Boy may be a hero in his existence , Earth-616 may not be his reality of origin .
Spider - Boy is getting his own serial publication , as Spider - Man ’s controversial sidekick push to investigate his line of descent , and why no - one remembers him .
No One Remembers Spider-Boy, Or His Villains
As has been the range musical theme withSpider - Boyso far , no one – not even his own supposed knave ' gallery – remembers who Spider - Boy is . Yet , no one even remembers these villains either . When face Gutterball at the start of the issue , Spider - Man has understandably never heard of or see him before . Meanwhile , Spider - Boy know everything about him , suggesting that this is one of his " deadliest enemy . " Still , tot up another layer of uncertainty , not even Gutterball himself commend Spider - Boy . The same can be said for Professor Emilio Helio , a.k.a . the Balloon Man , someone who Bailey alone recognizes , but ostensibly has no reminiscence of the untested torpedo .
The simplest explanation for all of this is that Bailey , the unexampled Earth-616 Spider - Boy , originally hails from a different timeline in the Multiverse .
Bailey ’s explanation for why no other Marvel torpedo recollect him – that his existence has been pass over from the collective memory – is , as far as the standards of a superhero story go , sure enough plausible ; it has happen before , to established characters . The world , but lack of recognition by Spider - Man of villains like Gutterball and Baloon Man , calls the honest nature of these theatrical role even further into question . One would think the villains would have to be just as tenure as Spider - Boy claims to be and if that ’s the type , Hero like Spider - Man and Squirrel Girl should at least have distorted memories of these villains , even if they had been tampered with .
Theory: Spider-Boy is Back in the Wrong Universe
The dim-witted explanation for all of this is that Bailey , the newfangled Earth-616 Spider - Boy , originally hails from a unlike timeline in the Multiverse . It is possible that he does not even see he is in the " wrong " universe . All of these inconsistencies with his story could be setting the stage forthe reveal that Bailey ’s true universe is adjacent to Earth-616 , but not 616 itself – hence why he holds so much tender cognition about Spider - Man and his amazing friends , but they do n’t discern him . The same can be said for Bailey ’s villains . All of these new characters may have only crashed into the wrong universe . If this is reliable , the truth is go to crushSpider - Man’ssidekick .
Spider - Boy#1is on sale now from Marvel .
