Zoë Robins On The Wheel Of Time Season 2
Screen fustian : Nynaeve has a lot of frustration this season with the Aes Sedai and with her own channeling block . Not that you did n’t have your share of moments , but was that frustration ever mirrored as an worker when you ’re watching the other leads get to channel and oppose while Nynaeve struggles with her abilities ?
Zoë Robins : Yes and no . I think it ’s important that you get to see everyone have their minute in various ways , and I think there ’s also intensity in accepting what you could and ca n’t do . Ultimately , I think that ’s where we find out Nynaeve at the end of the time of year ; she ’s realizing that she ca n’t access her powers in the manner that she want to and that , unfortunately , means that she ca n’t help her supporter .
The main gadget driver in her life is to be a protector and to make trusted her people are adept , so I think it ’s a real polar moment for Nynaeve and her character , and a real drive violence for her arc . Of course , I want her to go off and do a massive channeling detonation of goodness , but I also know that there ’s a ground why she ca n’t do that all the time .
Did you have a preferred experience on readiness during the output of this season ?
Zoë Robins : There were many , many highlights . I make out ferment with our director , Thomas Napper , who did instalment one and two . I absolutely eff work with Kate Fleetwood , who play Liandrin , so any sentence that I got to share a scene with her , I was ecstatic . There ’s a scene that I think of really lovingly , which is one of the scenes in the Arches where it ’s Nynaeve , Perrin , Elnore Jr. and Mat , and Mat is get back from being aside . It ’s just a small snapshot of Nynaeve ’s lifetime in the Arches , and I found that really beautiful and fun , and it was just a lovely Clarence Shepard Day Jr. of burgeon forth with my friends .
You mentioned Liandrin ; I was going to bring up that I have it off the scenes you two have together , because it ’s such great tenseness . so as to spiel those to their full potential , how much were you opine about counterpoint the characters of Nynaeve and Liandrin ? Zoë Robins : It ’s interesting ; that relationship is very complex because , as you say , there are similarity between the characters . [ With ] the agency they think about world , obviously not , and in some of their ideology , they take issue greatly from one another . But there is also this , I guess , genuine beloved that these two characters have for one another , mixed in with quite a bit of use from Liandrin .
It was all in the writing for the two characters , to be dependable . We just postulate to check that we knew what our quality want from each other . Working with Kate is brilliant . She ’s such a generous gift histrion and a wonderful human being as well , so anytime I work out with her , it ’s such a joy .
I really revel the minute at the offset of the season when Nynaeve is sword training with the Warders . Do you feel like that aspect of her character is going to fleet once she ’s capable to channel more reliably , or are you hoping for a [ fun ] brand - oppose scene in the future ?
Zoë Robins : I guess it depends where we find Nynaeve again . I think Nynaeve going off and training with the Warders was merely a reaction to what was happening around her , and I think she just ultimately feels more comfortable with them . She see them as champion [ and ] they do n’t necessarily have an agenda with her . That is where she see that she can take out a lot of her hostility whilst being blocked . So , I guess in the same way that people go out and go for a run , she goes and sword trains . So , we ’ll see , but obviously , that was a really fun scene and a nice way of life to show Nynaeve ’s forcible side again .
Are there any future effect or character moments from the books that you lie with about that you ’re aroused to get into ?
Zoë Robins : Yes , definitely . I ’m run short to have to trample very cautiously , but there ’s a moment in season three that I thinkWheel of Timebook readers will be very , very well-chosen about . It was improbably exciting to shoot . I think that ’s all I can say .
