Summary
Star Trek : Voyager ’s Neelix ( Ethan Phillps ) andStar Trek : Deep Space Nine ’s Kira Nerys ( Nana Visitor ) were very unlike on the surface but in reality had some surprising things in common . Kira served as the Bajoran liaison ship’s officer on the Deep Space 9 outer space station under the statement of Captain Benjamin Sisko ( Avery Brooks ) . AsDS9progressed , Kira only became more nuanced and acted as an excellent way to explore the Bajoran people and culture as a whole .
In direct contrast , Voyageroften mishandled Neelix ’s storyline , include haphazardly introducing his backstory and botching his kinship with Kes ( Jennifer Lien ) in early seasons . While Neelix found his footing later on on and was the subject of some interesting episodes , he was certainly nowhere nigh as pop as some ofStar Trek : Voyager ’s other graphic symbol , like Captain Janeway ( Kate Mulgrew ) or Seven of Nine ( Jeri Ryan ) .
